Arrive on your own at McLeodganj, where our hike will begin. We’ll go to Triund Valley in the afternoon by following the marked path. The rest of the day may be spent admiring the Dhauladhar Ranges from the enticing meadows. Mountain evenings are generally stunning, so keep a lookout for the starry night sky from your tent.

We begin our walk toward Laka Got after waking up to a breathtaking sunrise. We will pass the Snowline Cafe on our route to our final destination after two hours. Once there, take in the scenery, take a day of relaxation, and then take a stroll to the foot of the mountain range to help you acclimate.

Day 3: Laka Got to Lahesh Caves

We’ll wake up early after breakfast and, if the weather permits, attempt to climb Moon Peak today. In the event of inclement weather, this can also be utilized as an additional day. If we are willing to climb today, we may begin our journey quite early in the morning.

Day 4: Lahesh Caves to Moon Peak, then back to Laka Got.

We leave early today to trek across the spectacular Indrahar Pass. We briefly descended before starting our journey to Moon Peak, which is at 15,200 feet. Capture the moments to cherish them forever since the view from the peak is amazing. We will stay up there for a while before returning to Lahesh Caves Base late afternoon.

Day 5: Laka Got to Dharamkot

We leave early this morning to be at Dharamkot by sunset, capping off a wonderful voyage.

 Fitness Required for the Trek

At high altitudes, oxygen concentrations decrease as the air becomes drier. The amount of oxygen in our blood is determined by the hemoglobin’s oxygen saturation percentage. The amount of oxygen in our hemoglobin starts to decline once we are above sea level, which for the human body is roughly 2,100 m (7,000 feet). However, the human body can somewhat make up for the shortage of oxygen thanks to both short- and long-term altitude adaptations.

A beginner with basic to above-average fitness may complete the moderate Moon Peak Trek.

Prior trekking experience is advantageous but not required for this journey.

Fitness Necessary: The Moon Peak Trip is a somewhat difficult trek. The path is pretty well-maintained and there aren’t many hard ascents or descents. All along the walk, there is water to drink.
