How to Draw A Cartoon Shark
Step 1
This cartoon shark drawing starts with the outline of the head. We’re also going to add some facial features to the image, starting with one of them.
That means we start by drawing the eye. In the center is a solid black circle surrounded by two progressively larger ovals.
Then draw a curved line across that section of the eye. The back of the head is drawn with a simple curved line, and the front is also drawn with a curved line.
This line curves sharply inward to create the shark’s nose, and we also add two nostrils. Finally, draw the prominent fin on the head, and then we can move on!
Step 2
In this step of our cartoon shark drawing guide, we will draw the pectoral fin and a little bit of the head and face.
The pectoral fins are the fins that protrude laterally from the body. This one we draw will consist of curved lines with a pointed tip at the end.
Once we’ve drawn this fin, let’s add more detail to the face. A wavy line will start above the nose, go past the eye, and then curve at the end.
Step 3

Then we can draw those teeth! Each tooth is individually drawn and rounded with sharp points that extend inward. The base of each tooth does not quite touch the mouth’s sides, making it appear as if they are embedded in the gums.
Once you’ve drawn those teeth and gills, all that’s left to do is draw those extra fun details you might like! You could draw a sea background full of other cartoon creatures.
Step 6
In our reference image, we chose different shades of blue for the outer areas of the body. Then we used light gray and beige tones for the interior parts.
Finally, we used pink for the tongue and bright red for the gums. These are the colors we chose for this News shark, but for now, you can show off the colors you think are best for him!
